Confluence of Culture: The Story of Pansy Ann Martin
Peninsula College Humanities Professor and author, Glynda Schaad, wil be discussing the life of Pansy Ann Martin, yet another "woman to reckon with" from our local history. As a 14-year-old, Pansy rejected an arranged marriage to fin her own path. She broke rules and viuolated taboos throughout her young life, but survived a period that most of her people did not. In the Quinault Nation, 150 years after her birth, Pansy's name is still spoken with reverence.
