If you need a little lift to chase away some winter blues, the March 8 free concert at Peninsula College’s Forks Extension Site could be just the ticket.
Therapy Session, a West End band specializing in an eclectic mix of blues, country, gospel, folk and rock, will perform their rich lyrical and rhythmic melodies starting at 7:00 pm.
The band formed about six years ago after singer/guitarist Sally Milici and guitarist Roger Lien began jamming together as a means of healing after each had suffered the loss of a spouse. Lien and Milici eventually invited harmonica player Peter Larsen and bass player David Lenahan to join the team.
Although none of the band members have avoided adversity in their lives, they have flourished in spite of their difficulties and there is no mistaking the joy that exudes through their music. Milici may even entertain you with one of her originals, like the “164.14 Blues,” about the rainfall amount one winter in Forks.
All ages are welcome to come, kick up your heels, and share in this "therapeutic experience."
The Forks Extension Site is located at 71 S. Forks Avenue.
