This scholarship is available for applications in May 2021.
This scholarship is for students who are transferring to UW or even those who have already transferred to UW but have not yet earned more than 18 credits. The scholarship award amount is up to $12,000 per year, and renewable for up to three years.
Applicant Eligibility:
- Applicants must be Washington State residents who are in any one of the following three categories: (1) US citizens, or (2) US Permanent Residents, or (3) Eligible for in-state tuition through HB 1079 qualification.

If you have any questions or concerns about meeting this requirement, please contact Robin Chang at robinc@uw.edu or 206-543-2603. - Applicants must have earned a minimum of 36 credits at a Washington State community college by the time they matriculate at the University of Washington. Students who hold an associates degree are encouraged to apply.
- Washington State community college transfer students who are currently enrolled at the University of Washington may not have earned more than 18 UW credits by the application deadline.
- The award will depend on successful admission to the University of Washington as a matriculated student.
- The selection committee gives no consideration to an applicant's gender, race, color, creed, or national origin.
How to Apply:
- Complete the online application form. (You may need to create an account with a username & password.)
- Upload the following required supporting documents: resume, current unofficial transcript(s), two (2) letters of recommendation (one must be from a faculty member).
- After applications are reviewed, a select number of applicants will be asked to prepare an additional brief essay. Essays will be reviewed by the Martin Scholarship Selection Committee and finalists will be invited for an interview with the Martin Family Foundation Board in September 2019.
