PC’s Incident Management Team met this afternoon to continue contingency planning in response to ongoing COVID-19 developments locally and statewide. As a result of the discussion, it was decided to devote the President's Monthly Meeting on Monday to briefing the college community and discussing how these contingency plans might be implemented should the situation warrant.
Faculty and staff are strongly encouraged to attend the monthly meeting Monday, March 9 at 10:30 a.m. in the Little Theater. Discussion will include contingency plans and things to be vigilant about during ongoing COVID-19 developments. If you are working remotely or showing signs of illness please plan to attend via Zoom.
As of the 4:30 pm Emergency Operations Center briefing, there were no confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Clallam County. One confirmed case of COVID-19 has been identified in Jefferson County. This is an evolving situation, and we will continue to attend the twice-daily briefings next week.
The County Health Officer is not recommending closures of public schools or other public spaces, nor cancellation of scheduled community activities. We are following that guidance at this time.
At this time, no additional cautions beyond those given yesterday. (at risk populations—elderly and those with underlying medical issues—should consider not attending large public gatherings—risk group expanded to include pregnant women)
EOC will not be operating over the weekend unless conditions change.
Enhanced messaging around personal hygiene and staying home when ill is still being advised as the most effective means to limit spread of the virus.
Have a good weekend.
