Summary of Duties
Assist with Tidepools Magazine in the following ways:
- Download and organize electronic files,
- update spreadsheets,
- design posters/invitations,
- contact people who submitted entries.
Other duties may include:
- Create documents in MS Word
- Work within Canvas
- Assist faculty with other projects as need be
- Help with cultural events and publications (Magic of Cinema, Foothills, Tidepools, etc.)
Minimum Qualifications / Required Skills:
- High attention to detail
- Typing skills
- Basic knowledge of how to use Canvas and MS Word
- Experience conducting research on the internet
- An interest in promoting art, writing, photography, and music
Approximate Hours Per Week:
3-5 hours per week; hours are flexible depending on student availability and needs of faculty & English dept.
Days and Hours Needed:
Normal business hours between 8am - 5pm, Monday - Friday.
Preferred Start Date:
Winter quarter, with the understanding that the position will continue through Spring quarter.
Rate of Pay:
$14.42 / hour

7. Critical Thinking/Problem Solving: Student worker will demonstrate the analytical ability to gather facts, suggest solutions, discern flaws in reasoning, and make decisions which are sound and timely.
8. Technology: Student worker will develop proficiency in common technology tools, including phone, email, online searches, Zoom or other online meeting platforms, Microsoft Office applications, and specific technology used in the student worker's job duties.
9. Upward Management Skills: Student worker will demonstrate competency on how to communicate needs, concerns, and requests to immediate supervisor and other managers.
10. Workplace Simulation Mastery: Student worker will learn how to receive and learn from feedback, importance of regular input to and from the supervisor, and the supervisor will perform genuine performance evaluations and exit interviews.
