Summary of Duties
- Provide assistance with Longhouse/Multicultural events and programs or other campus events as requested.
- Send emails and support marketing and outreach/communication for Longhouse events and Studium Generale events and programs.
- Perform a variety of clerical tasks such as creating forms, flyers, and posters using Microsoft Word, Publisher, and other formats
- Provide assistance with Longhouse Study Hall
- May serve as a resource for students to know to answer basic questions about the campus and its resources, particularly Multicultural
- Assist other areas as requested (Instruction, Student Services, etc.)
- Record minutes at Longhouse meetings and events
- Provide support during exhibit installations, and light housekeeping in Gallery and Great Room
- Serve as witness for events and classes
Minimum Qualifications / Required Skills:
- Strong personal and written communication skills
- Excellent attendance
- Responsible, self-directed, and respectful of confidentiality issues
- Working knowledge of Canvas and Zoom, in order to assist students with simple tasks such as: logging in, submitting assignments, checking grades, communicating through email and other means of communication
Preferred Skills:
- Prefer keyboarding skills of at least 35 wpm
- Prefer experience with word processing and spreadsheet software
- Prefer knowledge of information access, research, and critical thinking
- Prefer interest in digital recording
- Prefer knowledge / familiarity with diverse populations, or strong interest in diversity, equity, and inclusion work

7. Critical Thinking/Problem Solving: Student worker will demonstrate the analytical ability to gather facts, suggest solutions, discern flaws in reasoning, and make decisions which are sound and timely.
8. Technology: Student worker will develop proficiency in common technology tools, including phone, email, online searches, Zoom or other online meeting platforms, Microsoft Office applications, and specific technology used in the student worker's job duties.
9. Upward Management Skills: Student worker will demonstrate competency on how to communicate needs, concerns, and requests to immediate supervisor and other managers.
10. Workplace Simulation Mastery: Student worker will learn how to receive and learn from feedback, importance of regular input to and from the supervisor, and the supervisor will perform genuine performance evaluations and exit interviews.
