Studium Generale will open its Fall Quarter series with the traditional Welcome Celebration, a partnership among the Port Gamble S’Klallam Tribe, the Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe, the Lower Elwha Klallam Tribe, and Peninsula College.

The annual Welcome was founded by Lola Moses of the Lower Elwha Klallam Tribe in 2016, and in the past years has featured language, poetry, education, and culture.

Nano Stern is a multi-instrumentalist, composer and songwriter with strong roots in the traditional songbook of South America. His music approaches folk, rock, jazz, trova and experimental sounds from a contemporary perspective.

He stands out as one of the most influential Chilean musicians and the potency of his performances, albums, instrumental technique, poetic voice and social activism are widely acknowledged. The legendary musician Joan Baez has called him, “one of the best Chilean singer-songwriter of his generation.”

In partnership with the Olympic Peninsula Fungi Fest, Peninsula College welcomes renowned ethnobotanist Nancy Turner, PhD, to present a lecture in the Studium Generale series.

Get your tickets to the Seattle Sounders vs. Portland Timbers game at 6 p.m. on Oct. 19 at Lumen Field in Seattle. The ASC is subsidizing the cost of tickets for current PC students, but the trip is also available to non-student guests. Participants are on their own to get to and from the game. Join us on Wednesday, October 23 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm for our Law Enforcement Forum. Learn about the Criminal Justice Program at Peninsula College and participate in a question and answer session about life in law enforcement.

Resilience Month offers local activities that celebrate and bring about positive change in creative ways and this year, the emphasis is on how hope can be one of the strongest predictors of wellbeing

It's a Peninsula College swimming pool takeover. Come swim, soak, or float around in the lazy river while taking in a movie. Admission is free to students and their guests.

Peninsula Behavioral Health In partnership with Peninsula College is offering an adult mental health first aid training. There is no cost for this training.

Sometimes first aid isn't a bandage, or CPR or calling 911. Sometimes, first aid is YOU. A person you know could be experiencing a mental health or substance use problem. Learn an action plan to help.
