Peninsula College is excited to welcome back sculptor and Cherokee Nation citizen, Karen Sixkiller, for her solo art exhibit, Cancer Sticks: Corruption of Sacred Tobacco, which sparks conversation and challenges perspectives. Sixkiller's latest exhibit will be open to the public at ʔaʔkʷustəŋáw̕txʷ House of Learning, Peninsula College Longhouse, on Tuesdays through Thursdays from 12:00–3:00 pm, January 7 – June 19, 2025.

May 3 is Peninsula College Day at the Sounders. The ASC is subsidizing your PC student ticket at just $7! Guests can join you for $15. This field trip only includes your ticket. Indigenous Culture Celebration

Join us for Indigenous Culture Celebration! 

The Quileute Tribe and local Tribes from across the Olympic Peninsula will share songs, dances, and culture at the Indigenous Culture Celebration.
It’s a gathering to honor and uplift the beautiful and powerful traditions that shape our community.

The celebration is free and open to the public. A light meal will be provided, and food will be served potluck style—guests are warmly encouraged to bring a dish to share.

Join us for High Mountain Lakes Response to Shifting Climate with Bill Baccus, climate ecologist at Olympic National Park, and Dr. Steve Fradkin, a coastal ecologist and limnologist at Olympic National Park, as they present about the importance of mountain lakes. In an ecology that is only ice-free for about five months each year, lakes offer a unique area of study. Our guests will present information from long-term datasets and offer analysis as well as an opportunity for questions and answers.

A celebrated voice in American letters, Fraser’s writing explores the environmental and historical narratives that have shaped the American West—and now, the darker stories of the Pacific Northwest.

Studium Generale: Caroline Fraser, 2025 Writer-in-Residence

Writer in Residence Caroline Fraser was born in Seattle. She holds a Ph.D. from Harvard University in English and American literature. Formerly on the editorial staff of The New Yorker, she is the author of three nonfiction books, the Pulitzer Prize-winning Prairie Fires: The American Dreams of Laura Ingalls Wilder, God's Perfect Child: Living and Dying in the Christian Science Church, and Rewilding the World: Dispatches from the Conservation Revolution, all published by Metropolitan Books.

Join us for 2025's Open Welding Day, where you can explore the craft, meet our expert instructors, and experience our state-of-the-art welding lab. Participants will discover what it’s like to be a welding student at Peninsula College, while broadening their knowledge of welding equipment and techniques. Additionally, current welding students will demonstrate their welding skills and give guests hands-on experience with our CNC plasma cutter and MIG welding stations!
