Steve Swanson, noted jazz trumpeter and former member of the Buddy Rich Band, will give a free jazz improvisation clinic in Maier Performance Hall (PC Campus) on Tuesday, April 22 from 1:30pm to 2:30pm. In addition to his sterling jazz and studio career, Steve has also played lead trumpet for Frank Sinatra, Mel Torme and the Temptations among others.

In 1971, Jamestown S'Klallam master carver Brick Johnson gifted a totem pole to Peninsula College. The Johnson family has refurbished the pole. You are invited to the pole raising and celebration.

Peninsula College’s 14th Writer in Residence, Cristina García, will be on the PC main campus and Forks Extension Site on April 30 and May 1, 2014. Ms. García was born in Havana and raised in New York City. She is the author of six novels, four books for young readers, and a collection of poetry. Her first novel, Dreaming in Cuban (1992), was a finalist for the National Book Award.
