Peninsula College is excited to welcome back sculptor and Cherokee Nation citizen, Karen Sixkiller, for her solo art exhibit, Cancer Sticks: Corruption of Sacred Tobacco, which sparks conversation and challenges perspectives. Sixkiller's latest exhibit will be open to the public at ʔaʔkʷustəŋáw̕txʷ House of Learning, Peninsula College Longhouse, on Tuesdays through Thursdays from 12:00–3:00 pm, January 7 – March 27, 2025.
View MoreWe provide the Legos, you provide the imagination! Pick up a box of Legos at the ASC Office, beginning Tuesday, Jan. 21, and get started on your work of art. You can take it home, or build it on a table in the PUB. We will display all finished works at 11:30 on Friday, Jan. 24, for judging. Prizes are $50, $30, and $20. You can work as an individual or a group and check out as many Legos as you need. All Legos must be returned. The theme for this year is anything Pirates, or Pacific Northwest, but all themes are welcome.
View MoreIt's Pirate Pete's Week and this year, the Pirates are going off campus for the first event of the week to explore the spectacular new Field Arts & Events Hall. PC students are invited to enjoy a free showing of Pirates of the Caribbean in their theater, sponsored by the Peninsula College ASC. The movie starts at 7, but come early to take part in the Treasure Hunt beginning at 6 and you'll get fun swag, free light refreshments and a chance to win the grand prize, to be handed out at the start of the movie.
View MorePirate Pete's Week continues with Spirit Day. Wear any PC gear (hat, shirt, etc.) to school and stop by the ASC Office to get a coupon for a free beverage (hot or cold) from the Pirate Cafe. We're also hoping you'll wear your gear to the basketball games. The Pirate women, ranked No. 3 in the NWAC, host arch rival Skagit Valley at 5 p.m. and the men take on the Cardinals at 7. Admission is free to PC students and staff. Go Pirates!

Contestants start with Oreos, then move to Dino Nuggets, then to pizza and then, the final round, featuring none other than raw Spam. It's all about how fast you can safely consume the items. Register in advance at the ASC Office.

While you're enjoying a PB&J or two, cast your vote for which Lego Contest entry you like best and also consider making plans to come watch the Pirates take on Everett at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. Saturday to conclude a week of fun activities surrounding school spirt and Pirate athletics. The halftime event at the 2 p.m. women's game will feature a fashion show of vintage Pirate athletic gear. You won't want to miss that! Admission is free to PC students and staff.
