Call for the 10th Annual Moving Pictures Festival Film Submissions from Peninsula College Students and PC Alumni

Tenth Annual Peninsula College Moving Pictures Festival Film Submission Deadline is Thursday, June 1, 2023 at Noon! 

Entries are open to current and former Peninsula College students. Entries need to be available as a high-quality video on YouTube for submission and less than 11 minutes in length. Animations, Slide Presentations, and Films saved in video format are welcome. Works can be student work or productions outside of coursework.

Cigarette smoking is the leading cause of preventable death and disease worldwide and is extremely harmful for people living with HIV (PLWH).  Although HIV infection was previously considered to be fatal, it has increasingly become a manageable chronic disease due to advancements in HIV treatment.  As PLWH live longer as a result of antiretroviral therapy, they now experience substantial comorbid, non-AIDS-related illnesses such as cardiovascular disease, chronic lung disease, and cancer.

Annual Sidewalk Chalk Art Contest
to

Students and staff are invited to create sidewalk chalk art, or just come out and enjoy the music and food. This annual event is part of our week-long Student Arts Festival and will feature a performance by the PC Jazz Choir at noon and a mid-day hot dog BBQ. Chalk and light refreshments will be provided. Prizes of $50, $30, and $20 gift cards will go to the top three student winners. The top two employee drawings will win a free lunch at the Pirate Café. Register on site. Entry is free.
