Counseling Services
Peninsula College cares about your health and wellbeing. Academic and mental health counseling are offered for free to current students at the college.
Academic Counseling
These in-depth discussions focus on academic success strategies, such as:
- planning and organizing, whether for a week or a quarter
- sustaining motivation (and being productive when motivation is low)
- overcoming obstacles and building resilience
- changing habits and behaviors related to academic performance
An academic counseling appointment is also suggested for an undecided student who is trying to find a degree path.
Mental Health Counseling
Peninsula College offers short-term, solution-focused counseling to students registered in any academic program.
Our licensed mental health counselors will work with you to determine the specific ways we can support you. Brief, solution-focused counseling focuses primarily on the challenges happening in the present. Counseling may involve helping you identify, develop, and implement more effective strategies and tools for navigating the challenges you’re struggling with.
Appointments are in-person at the Port Angeles campus, by video using Zoom, and by telephone.
Scheduling
To schedule an appointment with any of our counselors, please call 360/417-6524 and our program assistant will help you book an appointment. Peninsula College is not an emergency mental health service provider. If you are experiencing a mental health emergency, dial 911 or 988.
