The Peninsula College Foundation today announced its scholarship application cycle has officially closed, with 158 awards totaling nearly $200,000 distributed to 133 students attending Peninsula College for the 2020-2021 school year.
With assistance from the Peninsula College Scholarship Review Committee, the Foundation awarded 76 competitive scholarships to 51 students. Awards were given to students seeking two-year degrees and certificates and transfer degrees across multiple disciplines, including nursing, medical assisting, automotive technology, welding, science, education, language arts, journalism, music, business administration, and more.
Peninsula College Foundation scholarships are awarded based on donor-selected criteria and are supported by endowed funds and annual donor gifts. One hundred percent of donor gifts go to scholarships—the Foundation does not collect a fee for any gift. Students apply for PC Foundation scholarships through www.theWashBoard.org, a free, web-based scholarship matching clearinghouse for Washington students and scholarship providers.
In addition to competitive scholarships, each of the 64 nursing students at Peninsula College received a $1,000 award from the Foundation, as did 19 newly enrolled medical assisting students.
