- How Advising Helps You
-
Advising Model at Peninsula College
We’ve introduced a new way to support you—called the Integrated and Collectivist Model of Advising. What does that mean for you?
- You’ll get a warm handoff between advisors, so you’re never left wondering who to talk to.
- Your advisors work together to support your goals.
- We use proactive case management, which means we check in and help you stay on track through graduation.
Advising is for everyone at Peninsula College. You’ll follow an advising curriculum and a partnership agreement—because your success is a team effort!
Faculty Advisors vs. Student Success Advisors
Most students are assigned an advisor. Here’s how it works:
- All new students start with a Student Success Advisor.
- After about 30 credits, you’ll be assigned either:
- A Faculty Advisor (usually in your program area), or
- Another Student Success Advisor (located in Student Services or Athletics). Your advisor depends on your program and student type.
