Peninsula College offers community education courses taught by faculty and members of the community with expertise. Do you have a skill or hobby you'd like to share with the community? Are you an industry professional who wants to share your expertise with other adults? We are always looking for passionate instructors to teach professional development, job training, and personal enrichment courses.
What are Community Education Classes?
- Courses offered through Community Education are noncredit, short term, self-support classes with an emphasis on participatory learning.
- Classes can meet online or in-person, days or evenings, during the week or weekends. Let us know when you're available and we will work with you to pick the best meeting logistics for your class.
- Classes can range from one-session workshops to ten-session classes, one-hour to a full day, and everything in between!
- Look through our catalog to get an idea of what we currently offer.
Instructor Requirements
- Instructors must pass a Washington State background check.
- Formal education is not a standard requirement, depending on the class topic.
- Teaching experience is helpful, but not required depending on the class topic.
- Keep current with trainings and professional development when required.

- Fill out our Teach with Community Education form (button below) with your contact information and area(s) of expertise.
- Include a short biography and 3 professional references.
- Attach your resume and images of your work when applicable. Email us with more attachments if needed.
- If you have a class to propose, select that option in the form to submit a course proposal.
- We will review your teaching proposal and contact you with our determination.
- If your proposal is accepted, we will schedule an interview to discuss your proposal, prior teaching experience, and Community Education policies.
