My Heart is Good is an oral history of treaty rights told by Port Gamble S'Klallam elder and former tribal chair Ron Charles in his own words, with historic context and background provided by anthropologist Josh Wisniewski. My Heart is Good follows the history of the Port Gamble S’Klallam people from treaty signing, through the 1974 Boldt Decision and the subsequent 1994 court decision affirming the shellfish harvesting rights (Rafeedie Decision), to the growth of the modern S'Klallam commercial fishing fleet today.
