Teaching Philosophy:
I teach a variety of courses, including statistics, business calculus, precalculus, algebra, and mathematics for elementary teachers.
Research / Professional Interests:
Currently working with Olympic Service District #114 as a partner on the Math/Science Partnership grant project, focused on creating and maintaining professional learning communities (PLCs) among K-12 teachers in order to develop best teaching practices that improve student learning. • Studying the perception of mathematics and mathematicians in popular media, including movies and tv and comic strips and how these portrayals influence an individual's perception of the field and its practitioners.
