Are you an undergrad passionate about social justice? A busy activist building a student group or union campaign?
The Harry Bridges Center for Labor Studies has multiple scholarships available to incoming freshman, transfer students, and graduate students at the University of Washington who are interested in social justice/labor studies and plan to apply their education to these causes - all with one scholarship application.
These scholarships were created in honor of labor activists such as Silme Domingo, Gene Viernes, Frank Jenkins, Jr., and Kennedy Drayton.
Applicant Eligibility:
- Incoming Freshman, undergraduate transfer, or graduate student at University of Washington (Seattle, Bothel, or Tacoma campus).
- Interest in social justice and labor studies and plan to apply education towards these causes.
How to Apply:

- Write an essay response* to the prompts provided in the Application Instructions.
- Provide a brief letter of support from a teacher or community member.
- Provide a high school or college transcript. Unofficial transcripts are acceptable.
- Optional: Additional documents demonstrating your commitment to labor or Labor Studies, such as a resume or curriculum vitae.
*Note: To strengthen your application, it is highly recommended that you familiarize yourself with the terms of specific Labor Studies awards you are eligible for and prepare your application with the intents and purposes of these awards in mind.
