Notice of Public Hearing

Comments are invited at a Public Hearing, Tuesday December 10, 2024 in Cornaby Center, room A12 at Peninsula College on the repealing of WAC 132A-126 and adoption of WAC 132A-127 Code of Students Rights and Responsibilities. These changes are being made because on April 19, 2024, the U.S. Department of Education released its Final Rule under Title IX. This rule requires institutions of higher education to adopt student disciplinary procedures addressing sex discrimination, including sex-based harassment. A public hearing to receive comments will be held:

An overview of the proposed revision will be provided by the Hearing Officer prior to taking comments. Written comments will be accepted until 5:00 pm on Wednesday, December 4, 2024. Following the hearing, the Hearing Officer will prepare a memorandum summarizing the testimony. The President’s Cabinet will review the comments and written submissions.
