This fall, Shakespeare fan Anna Andersen comes to Peninsula College to direct her own adaptation of one of Shakespeare’s most popular plays: Macbeth, or as theatrical enthusiasts call it: “The Scottish Play.” Legend has it that if you say the word “Macbeth” while standing in a theater, you might just get bad luck.
Auditions are open to everyone. Dr. Lara Starcevich and Anna Andersen co-teach Peninsula College's fall drama class (Fridays 1:00–3:00 pm) and students enrolled are directly involved in the production. No preparation is necessary for the audition; cold readings will be available. An audition workshop to prepare newcomers to the stage will be held in early September. For more info and to sign up, email Anna Andersen directly at fallingforshakespeare@gmail.com.
Regular auditions will take place in the Little Theater on September 26 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm) and September 27 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm.
Show dates are: November 21–22 and December 5–6 with the November 21 show taking place at Field Arts & Events Hall in downtown Port Angeles.
