- FAFSA Error
Your FAFSA has an error and/or is incomplete. This means the Federal Processor and/or the college was unable to complete the processing of your application and needs more information from you in order to continue.
Errors and/or incomplete applications are typically due to one or more of the following:
- missing signature(s)
- missing parent info for students under 24 years of age
- blank data fields
- conflicting data
- invalid data
- illogical data
Your Student Aid Report (SAR) sent to you by the Federal Processor tells you what you need to do to fix the problem(s). Please read the instructions on your SAR carefully, make the appropriate corrections, and submit your corrections to the Federal Processor. If you no longer have the SAR you were sent, you can get a duplicate by calling 1-800-4FED-AID. Corrections can be made directly on your SAR, or, if you filed your FAFSA via the web and have an FSA ID (username and password), corrections can be made online at www.StudentAid.gov.
If your Social Security Number is incorrect on your submitted FAFSA - DO NOT CHANGE IT! In this situation you must start over with a new FAFSA application.
