Annie Carver has worked in the education field for decades. She has worked as a college navigator empowering others with engagement, mentorship, and helping students reach goals. Annie is a lifelong learner and challenges herself to keep learning new skills. Annie’s passion for building has inspired her to take Construction Technology classes at PC. She has obtained a BAS in Business Management, a certificate in Construction Leadership and an Emergency Medical Technician certificate. In addition to working with students, she has a small farm just east of Port Angeles where she always has projects she works on. Her love of animals and nature is apparent. In the summer season, she opens her farm to people from all over the world to visit. She has turned her hobbies into a small business that encourages a love of the outdoors. Annie loves learning new things, photography, art, gardening, and spending time with family.

Marcus Buren enjoys working with students in many capacities. In addition to working with Upward Bound, he joined the Men’s Basketball staff as the assistant coach this year. He played high school basketball at Thomas Jefferson in Auburn and then moved on to a collegiate career at The Evergreen State College in Olympia where he earned a bachelor’s degree. Since moving to the North Olympic Peninsula, Buren has coached at the YMCA level, Sequim AAU and with summer camps and leagues in Sequim, as well as Advantage Basketball Camps throughout the region. He is also studying cybersecurity at PC. In his free time, Marcus enjoys biking adventures, especially with his children.

Cole Turner is a passionate community advocate who has recently returned from out of state to help uplift underprivileged students on the Olympic Peninsula. He is a University of Washington graduate where he received a BA in English Language & Literature and worked in student services. Cole’s background is in education in which he has held positions at Associated Recreation Council in Seattle and at Hayes Elementary School in Kennesaw, Georgia. In his free time, Cole is an avid PNW sports fan, rooting for the Huskies, Seahawks, and Mariners. He also enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, and kayaking, fully utilizing Washington’s natural environment.
