Meet Dunia Faulx: Advocate for Rural Health and Global Changemaker
Dunia Faulx brings a wealth of experience in both global health and rural healthcare innovation. Since joining Jefferson Healthcare in 2016, Dunia has worked tirelessly to improve healthcare delivery through government affairs, population health strategies, and care transformation. Her initiatives range from integrating behavioral health services to advocating for updated rural hospital payment models, making her a key voice in the region’s healthcare landscape.
Before focusing on rural healthcare, Dunia traveled extensively as a program officer for the global health nonprofit PATH, where she spearheaded public health programs, particularly in West Africa. With a Master of Public Health from the University of Washington, she leverages her global perspective to tackle the challenges facing rural healthcare systems.
In this session, Dunia will share her fascinating journey from traveling the world for global health initiatives to leading transformative work in a rural Washington community. Her story highlights the connection between global and local health challenges, and how lessons from international health can drive innovation in rural settings.
Dunia serves on various boards, including the North Olympic Development Council and Habitat for Humanity of East Jefferson County, demonstrating her commitment to community-driven solutions.
