Meet Lisa Meersman: Racial Equity Advocate and Facilitator of Transformative Change
Lisa Meersman is a dedicated facilitator, coach, and social justice advocate who has committed her life’s work to advancing racial equity. With over 10 years of deep engagement in this field, Lisa believes that dismantling racism and white supremacy requires more than just institutional change—it must be rooted in personal transformation. As a white person, Lisa is on a lifelong journey of learning and unlearning, seeking to build community and foster accountability among others on the same path.
With a Master’s in Social Work, Lisa specializes in coaching white people on how to develop and sustain racial equity practices. She has facilitated white learning groups across the country, creating spaces for deep learning, connection, and vulnerability. For five years, she led a monthly community group in Portland focused on advancing racial consciousness and accountability.
In this session, Lisa will guide white-identifying participants in exploring what it truly means to commit to racial equity beyond words. Rather than focusing on what we know, the session will challenge us to consider how we show up, how we listen, and how we embrace the discomfort of doing things differently. Lisa will also provide practical tools and resources to help sustain this critical work over time.
Join us for a powerful, thought-provoking discussion that will challenge us to deepen our commitment to racial justice.
