Join renowned journalist and historian Scott Wilson for a captivating exploration of Port Townsend's rich maritime history. With over 40 years of experience in journalism, including nearly 30 years as editor and publisher of the Port Townsend Leader, Scott was uniquely qualified when the Port of Port Townsend asked him to author Working Port: 100 Years of the Port of Port Townsend.
In this session, Scott will present a visual journey through the highlights of the Port’s history, exploring how it was founded in 1924 and how it evolved into a vital hub for maritime trades. From its marinas and airport to the colorful figures who shaped the Port's legacy, Scott’s work brings to life the men and women responsible for Port Townsend’s global reputation in the marine industry.
