Peninsula Behavioral Health In partnership with Peninsula College is offering an adult mental health first aid training. There is no cost for this training.

Sometimes first aid isn't a bandage, or CPR or calling 911. Sometimes, first aid is YOU. A person you know could be experiencing a mental health or substance use problem. Learn an action plan to help.

Bring your carving idea and we'll provide the pumpkin and the carving tools. Take to the ASC Office in the PUB for a photo to enter into our pumpkin carving contest and then take your pumpkin home for Halloween. First place is $50, second is $30 and third is $20. Prizes for student entries only.

Avoid the Halloween vampire rush and donate blood on Oct. 29! It's really not scary and you might just save a life. Make an appointment at Bloodworks Northwest.

Celina Natoyiipoka Gray (Blackfeet & Métis), M.S. Wildlife Biology, will present "Working Dogs for Conservation and Environmental Justice from the Mountains to the Sea." Celina Natoyiipoka Gray is EJ Assistant Director—Working Dogs for Conservation and Chair, Native People's Wildlife Management Working Group of The Wildlife Society.

Stop by the ASC office to get a map of participating offices and then make the rounds to collect candy. You're never to old to enjoy all the fun costumes and the long-time Halloween tradition of trick or treating! Then return to the PUB at noon to enter our costume contest and enjoy some snacks. Justine Chorley, the Clallam County Emergency Management Coordinator, will present “Building Resilience on the Peninsula: Disaster Preparedness,” as Studium Generale partners with Career Services at Peninsula College.

Chorley will be focusing on how disaster preparedness contributes to building and sustaining a resilient community and how federal, state, and local emergency managers play important roles in these efforts. Chorley emphasizes how important it is to know which hazards affect your community, including earthquakes, floods, and wildfires.

Bill Maier, son of E. John Maier, founding president of Peninsula Community College, will explain the healing power of writing the memoir/novel of his time in the American/Vietnam War. He is grateful to the local tribes for their veteran honoring ceremonies and the “The Wall That Heals” for bringing together world-renowned Vietnam veteran artists, who spoke, painted, and performed illuminating works about the effects of war on young souls.

Join us on November 15 & 16 for the Peninsula College's Drama Department's production of The Thanksgiving Play, by Larissa Fasthorse.

Join us for one of our most popular annual events! We use a nerf-like ball so no one gets hurt. Come early to get decked out with blacklight markers and tape and then join in the fun. Varsity athletes will be separated and placed on coed teams and all other students can register as an individual or team at the ASC Office starting Nov. 11. We typically play with teams of 5-6, plus subs.

Join us for an artist lecture by Thomas Connery, whose solo exhibition, "Current Currents Currently," will be featured in the PUB Gallery of Art. Connery is the artist in residence at Peninsula College and is a celebrated and beloved teacher as well as an extraordinary ceramic artist.
