- Continuation In The Honors Program
Students must successfully meet two performance standards at the end of their first year of study to continue in the Honors Program. First, they must develop a project proposal that includes a plan of completion that satisfies the Honors Projects Learning Outcomes:
- Independent scholarship – the form, content and expression of the final project is student driven;
- Innovative – it contributes to the body of knowledge in one or more academic disciplines;
- Communication – the form(s) and depth of communication employed embody excellence;
- Presentation – where, and to whom, the project is presented is both meaningful and significant.
Those proposals are evaluated and assessed by the Honors Projects Committee. Second, they must submit their First Year Self-Evaluation, where they use self-assessment to evaluate their goals, attainment of goals, and success in pursuing their general education requirements during their first year of study. The First Year Self-Evaluation is reviewed by the Honors Program Admissions Committee who make the determination for continuation in the Honors Program.
