The Martin Achievement scholarship opportunity is designed to encourage and assist students early in their community college careers to pursue the baccalaureate at UW-Seattle after completing their associate's degrees or transfer requirements for UW academic programs.
Recipients of this scholarship may be awarded up to $5,000 for their final year at community college; and up to $12,000/year for up to 3 years at the University of Washington upon transfer.
Applicant Eligibility:
To be eligible, applicants must:
- Be Washington State residents who meet one of the following citizenship requirements: US citizen, US Permanent Resident, or Eligible for in-state tuition through HB 1079 qualification.
- Be currently enrolled students at one of 15 eligible community colleges (Peninsula College is one of the eligible community colleges).
- Have earned a minimum of 15 community college transfer credits.
- Have demonstrated signs of exceptional ability in science, humanities, music, art, leadership and/or service to the community
Please note, applicants for the 2021 Martin Achievement Scholarship should not plan to transfer to the UW-Seattle prior to the summer of 2022. Apply for the scholarship a year in advance of your expected transfer.

1. Basic biographical and educational information.
2. Answers to 4 short response questions.
3. Current transcripts from all community colleges/universities attended. Unofficial transcripts are accepted.
4. A Curriculum Vitae or activities resume listing honors, awards, scholarships, service, research, work experience, etc.
5. Two letters of recommendation; at least one must be written by a faculty member.

After reviewing all applications, a select number of applicants will be chosen to interview with the Martin Family Foundation Board on May 21, 2019. Final Decision will be made after those interviews have been completed.
