- Course Grade Change Appeal Process
Appeals
If a student disagrees with a grade received in any course, within the following quarter she/he can pursue the issue.
This process is used to appeal (challenge) a final grade that you have received in a course. You may file a challenge to a final grade in the quarter immediately following the quarter in which you took the course. Exception: If you are challenging a grade received in a course taken Spring or Summer, both may be challenged through fall quarter. Grade appeals are not usually reviewed during summer quarter.
If you feel a grade was simply an error, contact your instructor as soon as you can as per step one. Resolution at that level is usually quick to resolve if the faculty member is available. However, if resolution requires a multi-level appeal, it may not be able to be resolved until Fall quarter. Refer questions to the Office of Instruction.
Step 1
By filling out a Student Grade Change Request Form and consulting with the instructor, who will evaluate the request and complete the Official Grade Change Form if appropriate. The faculty member will submit the Official Grade Change Form to the Student Services Center.
Step 2
If no resolution is met with the faculty member, then by consulting with the appropriate Division Chairperson listed below, who will require documentation in writing and will investigate the request
