Improve your earning potential and start a rewarding career by joining the Bachelor of Applied Science in Behavioral Healthcare (BAS-BH) program.
You can earn your bachelor’s degree right here on the peninsula—or remotely from any location. You’ll save thousands of dollars compared with attending a university and graduate ready to help meet the urgent demand for healthcare workers.
Our BAS-BH program will prepare you to join a multi-disciplinary team that coordinates services and resources to meet the needs of diverse populations. You’ll learn how institutional and social barriers impede access to healthcare and understand how to help clients navigate the healthcare system. You’ll hone your communication skills, stay current on research and best practices, and use technology to support an integrated healthcare approach while following professional and ethical standards. During your last quarter, you will have the option to complete an onsite practicum or a research project.
Once you complete your four-year BAS-BH degree, you can pursue a job as a case manager, care coordinator, probation officer, or correctional treatment specialist. Or, you can apply for a master’s program such as Addiction Counseling or Public Administration.
Admittance to the BAS-BH program requires completion of a two-year degree, or equivalent junior level standing with a minimum cumulative GPA of a 2.0 or higher. You must also have earned at least a 2.0 GPA in both English Composition (ENGL& 101) and college-level math (MATH& 107 or another 100-level math course). Additional coursework in social sciences, natural sciences, and/or humanities may be required; please contact Tanya Knight for more information.
For fall 2023 and winter 2024, all newly enrolled BAS students will receive a $1000 award.
