Description
This Port Townsend branch of the AAUW is the largest branch in the state of Washington and is committed "to advance gender equity for women and girls through research, education, and advocacy", particularly Jefferson County women and girls. Last year, the UWF of Jefferson County provided scholarships and awards totaling over $65,000 to many women and girls from East Jefferson county.
The following scholarships are available for 2021-22:
- $11,000 Elmira K. Beyer Endowed Scholarship (4 year university/transfer students)
$2,700 Lisa T. Painter Endowed Scholarship
$3,000 UWF Environmental Scholarship
$2,500 CAP Scholarship
$5,000 Technical Career Scholarship - $3,000 (each) High School Scholarships offered to seniors at Port Townsend, Chimacum and Quilcene High Schools. 3 awards total.
Scholarship deadline for 2021-22 is March 5, 2021.

- No person may win more than one UWF scholarship in any one year.

- If applying for any of the first four scholarships, complete the application form found here and circle the scholarship(s) that you are applying for on the application form. Include all required information/documents.
- If applying for the Technical Career Scholarship, complete the application form found here, and include all required information/documents.
- If applying for the High School Scholarship, complete the application form found here, and include all required information/documents.

Finalists will be notified in late March/early April and may be asked to interview in early April. Winners will be notified in late April and invited to attend the UWF Scholars Recognition Meeting in May.
