"The Hands on History Scholarship Program is sponsored by the North Olympic History Center (formerly Clallam County Historical Society.) This program was established to encourage high school students in grades 9-12 to research and embrace a particular history subject of interest to the student. The goal is to have Clallam County history come alive not only for the student, but also for the audience this is being presented to. We want you, the student, to not only learn something about our history but for you, the student, to ENJOY and have FUN with your history project!"
Application deadline is the last Saturday in October (10-28-2023). This is also orientation day! Student and parent/guardian need to bring the completed application to the North Olympic History Research Center at 11:00 am on October 28, 2023 for a meet and greet, and application approval. After the application had been submitted and approved, the student can begin working on their chosen history project.
Completed history projects (the essay part) will be due in April (date yet to be determined.) Later in April will be the public presentation of the projects (date to be determined.) Essay and oral plus physical presentation of your topic will determine your placement for an award.
