In support of National Disability Employment Awareness Month, Peninsula College will be hosting a series of events to celebrate the value and talent workers with disabilities add to America’s workplaces and economy. NDEAM’s purpose is to confirm our commitment to ensuring disabled workers have access to good jobs, every month of every year. That’s the spirit behind this year’s official theme: “Access to Good Jobs for All.” 

The Peninsula College ASC is sponsoring 21 tickets to Monday's Seattle Sounders playoff match. Kickoff is 6 p.m. Get your tickets here and we'll email them to you. The cost is $18 for students and $36 for non-students. You are on your own for transportation and food. Go Sounders!

It's a Peninsula College swimming pool takeover. Come swim, soak, or float around in the lazy river while taking in a movie. Admission is free to students and their age 16-over guests.

Peninsula Behavioral Health In partnership with Peninsula College is offering an adult mental health first aid training. There is no cost for this training.

Sometimes first aid isn't a bandage, or CPR or calling 911. Sometimes, first aid is YOU. A person you know could be experiencing a mental health or substance use problem. Learn an action plan to help.

Bring your carving idea and we'll provide the pumpkin and the carving tools. Take to the ASC Office in the PUB for a photo to enter into our pumpkin carving contest and then take your pumpkin home for Halloween. First place is $50, second is $30 and third is $20. Prizes for student entries only.

Avoid the Halloween vampire rush and donate blood on Oct. 29! It's really not scary and you might just save a life. Make an appointment at Bloodworks Northwest.

Stop by the ASC office to get a map of participating offices and then make the rounds to collect candy. You're never too old to enjoy all the fun costumes and the long-time Halloween tradition of trick or treating! Then return to the PUB at noon to enter our costume contest and enjoy some snacks. Celina Natoyiipoka Gray (Blackfeet & Métis), M.S. Wildlife Biology, will present "Working Dogs for Conservation and Environmental Justice from the Mountains to the Sea." Celina Natoyiipoka Gray is EJ Assistant Director—Working Dogs for Conservation and Chair, Native People's Wildlife Management Working Group of The Wildlife Society.

Meet Kate Dean: Small Town Politics in Uncertain Times: A Retrospective

Commissioner Kate Dean will reflect on 8 years in local elected office during tumultuous and contentious times in our country. She will reflect on the November 5th election and what that might mean for Jefferson County.

Justine Chorley, the Clallam County Emergency Management Coordinator, will present “Building Resilience on the Peninsula: Disaster Preparedness,” as Studium Generale partners with Career Services at Peninsula College.

Chorley will be focusing on how disaster preparedness contributes to building and sustaining a resilient community and how federal, state, and local emergency managers play important roles in these efforts. Chorley emphasizes how important it is to know which hazards affect your community, including earthquakes, floods, and wildfires.
