Join us for High Mountain Lakes Response to Shifting Climate with Bill Baccus, climate ecologist at Olympic National Park, and Dr. Steve Fradkin, a coastal ecologist and limnologist at Olympic National Park, as they present about the importance of mountain lakes. In an ecology that is only ice-free for about five months each year, lakes offer a unique area of study. Our guests will present information from long-term datasets and offer analysis as well as an opportunity for questions and answers.

Peninsula College is thrilled to welcome Pulitzer Prize-winning author Caroline Fraser as the 2025 Writer-in-Residence, taking place May 13–15 on the main campus and in Port Townsend. A celebrated voice in American letters, Fraser’s writing explores the environmental and historical narratives that have shaped the American West—and now, the darker stories of the Pacific Northwest.

Writer in Residence Caroline Fraser was born in Seattle. She holds a Ph.D. from Harvard University in English and American literature. Formerly on the editorial staff of The New Yorker, she is the author of three nonfiction books, the Pulitzer Prize-winning Prairie Fires: The American Dreams of Laura Ingalls Wilder, God's Perfect Child: Living and Dying in the Christian Science Church, and Rewilding the World: Dispatches from the Conservation Revolution, all published by Metropolitan Books. 

Ever wanted to try your hand at welding? Now’s your chance! Join us for 2025's Open Welding Day, where you can explore the craft, meet our expert instructors, and experience our state-of-the-art welding lab. Participants will discover what it’s like to be a welding student at Peninsula College, while broadening their knowledge of welding equipment and techniques. Additionally, current welding students will demonstrate their welding skills and give guests hands-on experience with our CNC plasma cutter and MIG welding stations! 

The PUB Gallery of Art at Peninsula College is seeking entries for the 2025 Peninsula College Student Art Show! The show is a juried exhibition that will be in the PUB Gallery of Art from May 21–June 11, 2025. Any Peninsula College student of the 2024–25 academic year may enter up to three works of art. This is the most fun you'll ever have at a fun run. Family entertainment at it's best, but also a great challenge for athletes! Navigate obstacles, including three giant inflatables, crawl through mud, run through foam, and try to outrun zombies lurking in zombie zones throughout a 2-mile course. You'll pick up flags along the way - and the zombies will try to take them. Finish "alive" with a flag, and win a medal. If you're one of the walking dead, duck into the first aid tent for a zombie antidote to finish alive and win a medal.

Join Olympic Community of Health (OCH) Community Program Coordinator Erin Hawkins and OCH Director of Programs Miranda Burger as they share about an exciting new service called Olympic Connect.

Olympic Connect is a community-driven network of partners on the Olympic and Kitsap Peninsulas who are dedicated to helping individuals get the support and care they need to thrive. Through Olympic Connect, trusted helpers called community-based workers help people access services like job training, food assistance, health care, childcare and more.

The annual Spring Bash is back. Join us by the fountains for food, a giant inflatable water slide, outdoor volleyball, other outdoor games, music - and try your hand at tie dying a hat, shirt or other object. This event is specifically for currently-enrolled PC students.
